Graphycal Abstract: Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) have been employed to extract per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), tire wear particles, microplastics, and other persistent organic pollutants from aquatic environments. This review discusses regeneration strategies essential to advancing circular economy principles and examines the regulatory landscape driving innovation in this field. NADES represent a paradigm shift in sustainable water treatment by offering a technically viable, economically competitive, and environmentally benign approach to remediate persistent contamination in aquatic systems. Nevertheless, further research is required to address scalability, long-term performance, and regulatory considerations prior to widespread commercialization.
